As you set the clocks forward, it’s time to take a good look inside your closet. Now is the season to liven up your wardrobe with a little fun and flirty. Spring is full of new fashion, but with just a few pieces you can easily make a statement. Here are five must-haves for Spring 2009.

Bangles give you the freedom to mix and match, with no rules to follow. Whatever the lineup, stacking up your wrist is elegant and trendy. Pair round bangles with square shapes or alternate gold with silver. Slide on solid bangles mixed with jewels. In this case, less isn’t more.

Every woman needs a yellow belt this season. It’s perfect with a black or brown dress, but can work with almost every color of the rainbow. Whether you prefer a thin belt or a wide one, a splash of yellow can liven up any outfit, and accentuate your waist at the same time.

Wedged heeled sandals are a must. The size of the heel doesn’t matter, but make sure the sandal has some personality. A bright color, jewel accents or tons of straps would all make that simple little sundress smile.

The days of struggling to fit all of your lifesaving items into that tiny excuse for a purse are over – thanks to the over-sized bag. You can go for the slouchy, laid-back Hobo, or a sturdy, sophisticated tote. As long as it can easily be mistaken for luggage, you’ve done your job.

And finally … Pendant jewelry. Anyway you wear it – on your finger or on your ears. With a long chain around your neck or attached to a cuff bracelet. Just make sure it’s big, sparkly and has lots of turquoise and hot pink. Wear it with confidence, because you’re sure to get attention.
